Twin sisters April (on right) and Emily Moran, Ballymitty fought out the final of the county minor singles championship recently and after a great battle it was April who emerged victorious 21-11, 15-21, 21-20. They are pictured with county board official Ricky Barron
Benny Doyle, Horeswood retained the county 4 wall diamond masters A singles title recently when his opponent Tony Breen, Templeudigan retired injured after the first game. Doyle had won that game by 21-5.
After a great battle between Kilmyshall clubmates and doubles partners Jimmy Dunne (on right) and Tom Byrne, it was Dunne who just got home 21-12, 18-21, 21-18 to win the county diamond masters B singles 4-wall title. Ricky Barron made the presentations.
We are now in the last week of the county 4 wall championships and the finals fixed for Wednesday night at St. Josephs Community Centre will bring to an end another brilliant season of domestic small court action. Adam Walsh, St. Mary’s retained his county 4 wall junior singles title with a bloodless 21-1, 21-3 over hamstring victim Mark Doyle, Taghmon. They are pictured with referee Gavin Buggy. It was a second junior singles title in a row for the talented Walsh.
Michéal Busher, Bridgetown, on right, won his second county 4-wall junior B singles title last week when he overcame David Stanners, St. Martins 16-21, 21-19, 21-14 in a gripping encounter. Busher previously won this championship back in 2017.
John Roche and David Kenny, Castlebridge foiled the four in a row seeking champions from Bridgetown, Michéal Busher and Robert Byrne 21-15, 15-21, 21-17 in a hard fought county junior B doubles decider. Ricky Barron made the presentations.
Shane Terry, St. Josephs maintained his terrific form to oust favourite Shane Birney, Castlebridge 21-18, 5-21, 21-8 in the county 4 wall junior C singles final. It was a second major win this season for Terry who also captured division 6 of the county winter league. Also in the picture is Ricky Barron.

Rachel Goff is following in her fathers (Barry) footsteps by winning championships and earlier this week she captured the county 4 wall junior D singles title in emphatic style with a 21-1, 21-6 win against her St. Josephs clubmate Marguerite Keeling. Making the presentations was county board official Tom Byrne.
Anne Boland, Templeudigan is still winning titles after a career spanning a few decades and recently she captured the county Masters (40+) singles championship with a comfortable 21-4, 21-13 victory over Sharon Murphy, Castlebridge. Presentations were made by County Treasurer Barry McWilliams.
