What's another year? Action begins in Leinster 2016 on 6th January

It may be Christmas and for most people a time of celebration, but for many players it will not be a time of excess with 2016 just around the corner writes Antoin Ó Braoin.

Handball maintains its tradition of providing competition all year round and the 2016 Leinster 40×20 adult championship is set to commence on 6th January. That is certain to occupy the minds of those with serious ambitions on doing well in this opening event of the handball year and many will tailor their activities appropriately during the festive season.

Seven Wexford players will be in action on that opening night including Patrick Boland, Padhraic Roberts, David Kenny, Niall Maher and Michéal Busher in the junior B singles grade and Barry McWilliams and Noel Holohan in junior singles. All will be hopeful of victory but will be well aware of the task facing them in the most competitive province of them all.
