Three Wexford Players in All Ireland Softball Singles Action this Weekend
One of the highlights of the handball season takes place this weekend with the All Ireland Softball Singles Finals on at venues throughout the country. Wexford has three players competing. First into action this Saturday 3rd September is Cliodhna O’Connell from the Coolgreany club, who plays Siobhan Tracey (Roscommon) in the Ladies Junior B Final. The Final is on at 10am in St. Comans HC, Co. Roscommon at 10am, in advance of the Minor and Senior Singles Finals at the same venue..
Gavin Buggy (O35A) from St. Marys is next in action in Ballina, Co Tipperary at 1pm on Sunday 4th September against Joe McCann from Mayo. Gavin comes back in to replace Tommy Hynes who subbed for him very successfully in the O35A Semi Final, due to an clash of fixtures with Gavin’s Senior Singles Semi-Final.
Last but not least Joe Devereux from Castlebridge contests the U21 Final in Kilfane, Co. Kilkenny on Sunday at 3pm against Rory Grace from Tipperary.
