Softball Doubles takes centre stage this weekend in All Ireland Championships

The All Ireland Mens Senior Doubles reaches the Quarter Final stage this weekend and Wexford have two pairs in action this Saturday. It is a double header in Garryhill with an early start time of 11.30am. Gavin Buggy (St. Marys) & Mikey Berry (Barntown) are first in against Ciaran Neary/Keith Bourke from Kilkenny. After that Tommy Hyne s (St. Marys) and Barry Goff (Castlebridge) face Carl Browne and newly crowned Senior Singles champion Eoin Kennedy from Dublin. Full fixture list can be viewed by clicking on the following link Senior Softball Doubles.

The All Ireland Softball Doubles are also on this Sunday, and we have four pairs through following Leinster Final victories. Tommy and Barry won’t have much time to recover from Saturday’s game as they play Paul Mullins/Eddie Farrell from Tipperary. The only consolation is it is a home venue in St. Marys. Our Junior B pair of Shane Birney and Tommy Moore (Castlebridge) travel to Dungarvan to take on the home pair of Gary McCarthy/Anthony Fitzgerald. David Stanners (St. Martins) and Robert Byrne (Bridgetown) face a long trip to Tuamgraney, Co. Clare where they take on Brian Reilly and Alan Cummins. All games have a 1pm start. Our O35B doubles pair, JR Finn (Ballymitty) and Noel Holohan (Templeudigan) have a bye to the All Ireland Final where they will be up against Keith Heelan and John Keyes from Limerick. Best of luck to all our doubles pairings in action over the weekend.
