Shane Birney slams in the junior C grade

Alley Chat with AOB

Shane Birney, Castlebridge only returned to the game in the past two years or so and has wasted no time in progressing up the ranks.  Last year he opened his account with a victory in the entry level junior D grade and this time around he dominated the higher junior C championship on the way to winning both singles and doubles titles.  He did look down and out in the singles final against an inspired Mikie Murphy, Taghmon however, but recovered his composure to win in the third game of an outstanding match. Birney’s doubles success was alongside Padraig Devereux who shared in that inaugural junior D victory of 2017.
