Memories from 1986: Castlebridge marathon men enter the Guinness Book of Records

The old record was held by Francom-Bevo Handball Club in the Netherlands and stood at an intimidating 44 hours and 20 minutes, but on 28th September 1986 a group of 12 men from Castlebridge Handball Club rewrote that section of the Guinness Book of Records when they played non stop handball for 45 hours and 50 minutes.

Remarkably a small number of those in the picture are still playing 34 years on!
