Like son like father as Mick Armstrong takes All Ireland title in dramatic fashion

In recent years Mick Armstrong has enjoyed the multiple successes of his son Keith as the youngest member of the handball mad family captured national and international events around the globe. Mick himself continued to play too but despite the many All Ireland medals coming in the door he was finding it difficult to get his hands on one with his name on it, so to speak. He did come close on a number of occasions in both Silver Masters B and Golden Masters B but tantalisingly that gold medal remained out of reach. Now that wait is finally over.

The Wexfordman held a long lead in the third game at one stage but having seen that all but wiped out he needed to finish strongly to seal the victory. It was a well earned win for a dedicated handball family and makes up for a number of narrow defeats in recent years.
