Joy for Cliódhna and Coolgreany as she takes 2020 All Ireland Ladies Junior B 4-Wall Singles title

The long wait for an All Ireland Ladies Singles title for Wexford ended in Dungarvan this evening with Cliódhna O’Connell putting on a super show to win the 2020 Ladies Junior B crown, defeating Aoife Hurley from Cork.

It has also been a very long wait for both players since their respective semi-final victories back in February 2020, but it didn’t seem to affect Cliódhna as she got off to an impressive start winning the first game 21-3. She continued this rich vein of form in the second and took it 21-8.

Congratulations to Cliódhna on a famous victory, not only for herself, but for club Coolgreany and her county. The last Ladies All Ireland Singles winner was Anne Boland from Templeudigan in 1992,so this win is long overdue.

Commiserations to Aoife and thanks to her and Munster GAA Handball for facilitating the playing of the Final ahead of the rescheduled dates. Thanks also to Brother Spring and all at Dungarvan handball for hosting this Final.
