It’s almost time for the winter woollies and the 2019 county 40×20 championships
The current hugely successful (from a Wexford point of view) World 40×20 Championships in Minnesota has focused many minds on the impending return of the small blue ball in Wexford and than means clubs and players, not still involved in the Leinster 60×30 championship, turning their thoughts to the 2019 county 40×20 season which gets underway on 24th September.
The new format in Wexford means the 2019 county 40×20 championship begins in September 2018 and finishes in January/February 2019. It will as usual feature league matches in all grades of singles, doubles and team competitions.
All those taking part are advised to contact their club secretary immediately as the closing date will be 26th August, with games getting underway on 24th September. Naturally those involved in the later stages of the Leinster and All Ireland 60×30 championship will not enter the county 40×20 championship until their campaign is at an end.
Clubs are reminded that only entries accompanied by the relevant fees can be accepted. Queries re grading etc should be directed to Antoin O Braoin, Secretary, Competitions Control Committee at 087-2060715 or firstname.lastname@example.org
