Hughes opens with impressive win over former champion Hynes

Peter Hughes made it a very good week for Ballyhogue when he defeated 2015 champion Tommy Hynes, St. Mary’s in the opening Group B game of the Wexford 40×20 senior singles championship. In a tie played at St. Josephs yesterday evening Hughes took the first game 21-14 and then secured the three points with an emphatic 21-7 victory in the second.

On Friday Galen Riordan had beaten Paul Lambert in his Group A game to set up a fine weekend for the Enniscorthy district club.
