Golden Master B Doubles Stephen Murphy/Brendan Murphy (CAB) v Billy Rossiter/Eugene English (BAH)
Castlebridge Club held the Golden Master B Doubles final and it was the home pairing of the Murphy brothers who got off to the better start making it 11-6 in the early exchanges. However the experienced English / Rossiter from Ballyhogue soon settled into their stride and made a number of aces bringing the score to 11-10. The Castlebridge men then retook serve and Stephen Murphy kill some nice balls to extend their lead to 14-11. Once again the Ballyhogue pairing dug deep and loss their toss at 15-14 up. This handout proved to be the turning point in the first as the Murphy brothers took control and secured the game on a scoreline of 21-14. So to the second and Castlebridge started with serve making two aces before Rossiter played a lovely passing shot to take serve. The next few aces were exchanged between both sets of players. Castlebridge then took serve at 4-5 down and both players displayed some excellent serving. Ballyhogue eventually managed to retake the serve at 5-16 down leaving them with a mountain to climb in the second game. To the credit of English / Rossiter they dug deep but once Castlebridge retook serve at 16-8 they stamped their authority on this match. They won the second game on a scoreline of 21-9.
