GAA Handball’s She’s Ace Weekend is one of the highlights of the Handballing year, with girls and ladies of all ages and abilities descending on Castlebar and surrounding Mayo venues to compete in a fun, enjoyable environment. The weekend sees many new friendships formed, players competing for the first time, a unique Mother’s & Daughters Fun event, all combined with watching our games elite ladies compete in the Ladies Open section. There really is a grade to suit all during this weekend.

After the huge success of last year, this years event sees the addition of a Mother’s Challenge event in the 40×20, which will be aimed at beginners, and using the One-Wall ball. Another change sees the Ladies Open players compete in a standalone National Ranking Event for the first time. This event will take place over the two days as part of a new ranking system for Ladies Handball, with a drop down format and ranking points for each individual placing on offer. Ireland currently rule the roost in Ladies 40×20 Handball internationally at present, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to get some competitive game time, and valuabe ranking points, ahead of the 2015 Championship season.

Once again, the weekend will be run in association of Breast Cancer Ireland, to help support a very worthy cause. All in the all the weekend is a true celebration of female Handball in Ireland, one not to be missed!
