Damien Kelly and David Redmond knock out table toppers in ultra competitive County Masters 'B' singles championship

It had looked like a ‘mini’ All Ireland championship from the start and when the quarter finals stage of the 2015 County Masters B Singles Championship were reached all of the main contenders were still standing.  Robert Doyle, St. Josephs, Barry McWilliams, Horeswood, Robert Byrne, Bridgetown and Sean Stanners, St. Martins had topped their groups and when they were joined in the knockout stages by David Redmond, Templeudigan, Damien Kelly, Coolgreany, Ricky Barron, Barntown and John Roche, Castlebridge all of the ingredients were present for a terrific conclusion to this most competitive of grades.

Then on Friday night last Doyle and Stanners bit the dust, with the former going out to Damien Kelly on a scoreline of 21-20, 16-21, 21-15 and the latter being swamped by David Redmond 21-9, 21-6.

Robert Byrne just got the better of John Roche 20-21, 21-11, 21-20 after a titanic struggle and Barry McWilliams proved too strong for Ricky Barron, winning 21-10, 21-7.
