Its softball time in Wexford as County 60×30 Championship kicks off

Its softball time again in Wexford and with the onset of the longer evenings in the sunny south east, the sound of the alley cracker can be heard once more around the county. That means players are getting ready for the start of the traditional 60×30 county championship and with an entry of 180 committed to taking part, it looks certain to be as competitive as ever before the destination of the titles is decided.

The new format of playing all grades on a league basis will again pertain and following the success of  last year’s championships the 2015 version has a lot to live up to. But in a county where tradition holds sway and the reverbations of the red ball is a treasured sound, few would bet against another bumper offering of all that is good in our national game.
