Classy Galen Riordan wins World 23 and Under Singles title on another golden day for Wexford handball in Minnesota

Galen Riordan has just topped off an incredible season of success by winning the World 23 and Under Singles championship in Minnesota, USA. The Ballyhogue player came through a quality field without dropping a set and has now joined an elite group of Irish handballers who have taken this prestigious title. Galen made the big breakthrough in Wexford this season by winning a first county 40×20 senior singles title and he followed that by capturing the Leinster and All Ireland 40×20 junior singles crowns as well as the 40×20 Nationals Men’s A and the Golden Gloves event in Belfast. His 21-20, 21-7 victory over Gavin McCrystal, Tyrone today saw him complete a fantastic year and propelled him to the forefront of Irish handball. Handballer of the year by a distance!
