Castlebridge add to their tally with John Roche/David Kenny junior doubles victory

John Roche and David Kenny, Castlebridge made the most of home advantage in the junior doubles final against Paddy Haughton and Matthew Hynes, St. Mary’s to come away with a clearcut 20-21, 21-13, 21-12 win. Haughton and Hynes had enjoyed an earlier success against Kenny and Malachy Whelan in the intermediate final at Wexford but while they snatched the opener in this tie it was the killing of Kenny and good work by Roche that paved the way for this win. For Kenny it was a third title in this grade in the past four years having been successful with Eugene Kelly in 2017 and Jason Murphy in 2015.
