Beginners tag no barrier to Wexford's women as new tournament gets ready for take off
Written by Antoin Ó Braoin, Rúnaí Contae
Excitement is building on Slaneyside ahead of the new Beginners Doubles Tournament for women who have never before played competitively. Most of those taking part are parents, many with children playing in the county championship, and this County Committee initiative is designed to acknowledge the ongoing commitment they make in this regard.
With so many new families in Wexford now making handball a part of their life, mothers will no longer be confined to just driving their children to the court and instead will be able to participate in training etc with their siblings. That should make for a few interesting matchups!
Additionally the tournament will cater for those who just want to take up the game for recreational reasons as well as those who might harbour ambitions to move up the competitive ladder. It will commence on Monday 24th November. Below are the Terms and Conditions of participation.
