Another special occasion for the club as Templeudigan GAA Handball unveil new playing gear
Yesterday evening was another very special occasion for Templeudigan GAA Handball Club as players and officials gathered in the village for the launch of the clubs new playing gear. In recent times the club has grown its membership very significantly and the work being done with young boys and girls from the area has paid off, with county, Leinster and All Ireland titles coming to ‘the little club on the hill’.
On foot of this success and to maintain the momentum, the club executive recently took the decision to upgrade the playing gear and the excitement was palatable as the young players arrived at the court to be presented with their new jerseys and togs. Club officials and parents were also there for the memorable occasion and with such enthusiasm and talent presently available, the future looks bright for this progressive unit.
Back in the mid 80s when the club was reformed after a long absence, the committee made the decision that green was to be the club colour, but when the box of new jerseys arrived and was opened, they were shocked to find blue inside! The error was corrected shortly afterwards, but in the meantime club players turned out in a colour not of their choice. No such problems last evening as the picture below shows!
