For the umpteenth time the county 60×30 senior doubles title remains within the hallowed walls of Emmet Place in Wexford town after Tommy Hynes and Paul Carty, St. Mary’s got the better of the other ‘townies’ Gavin Buggy and Paul Lambert, St. Josephs in last week’s final played at Castlebridge.

With Buggy visibly impaired by injury, Hynes nursing his ever tender shoulder and Carty aggravating a recent injury, it was in many ways a gathering more commonly found in A&E than in a handball court. Despite that however they managed to put on a reasonable enough show before the better balanced  Hynes and Carty prevailed on a scoreline of 21-14, 21-10
