All Ireland Softball Update
Adult Senior Senior Softball Doubles
While we were hoping for an all Wexford All Ireland Senior Softball Doubles Final. It unfortunately didn’t work out that way today in Croke Park, with Meath and Westmeath coming through the two semi Finals. In the first semi final, the reigning champions from Meath, Gary McConnell and Brian Carroll, got the better of Gavin Buggy & Mikey Berry 21-11, 21-8.
In the second semi final, Tommy Hynes and Barry Goff got off to a flier against the Westmeath pair of Robbie McCarthy and Colm Jordan, taking the first game 21-7. They led 19-18 in the second game and were on course for a Final spot, only for Westmeath to get back in with three aces to snatch it 21-19. In the third game, Wexford led at one stage 11-8, but once Westmeath got back on level terms, the effort put in by our lads in the second game took its toll, and Westmeath closed the match out 21-12.
Hard luck to both Wexford pairs, who gave it their all, and congrats to Meath and Westmeath, who will now meet in the historic Final next Saturday, as it will be the last ever Final to be played in the current handball centre.
All Ireland Juvenile Softball Semi-Finals
It was a great day today for Wexford Juvenile handball as all our players won their All Ireland Softball Semi-Finals.

Our U16 Doubles pair of Emily & April Moran are already through to the All Ireland Finals, having received a bye.
The Finals are fixed for Sunday 6th October.

The curtain comes down on the adult softball season next weekend, with the All Ireland Softball Doubles Finals (Weekend 2). We have four pairs through to the Finals and we wish them all the very best of luck. The four pairs are Tommy Hynes/Batty Goff (Masters A), David Stanners/Robert Byrne (Masters B), Shane Berry/Tommy Moore (Junior B) and Noel Holohan/JR Finn (O35B).
