GAA Handball Myclubshop.ie 60×30 Irish Nationals

The 2016 GAA Handball Myclubshop.ie 60×30 Irish Nationals which will take place over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th July in Kilkenny, Carlow, Tipperary and Wexford venues. This event has attracted record numbers this year with almost 200 players involved. The full fixtures list and schedule for each venue are now released – see http://www.gaahandball.ie

The event, which was first launched in 2011 and played in 2012 and 2014 has always been a Doubles event, but this year a decision was made to make both Open events Singles competitions with the added bonus of ranking points being on offer.

The famous Talbot’s Inch club in Kilkenny will play host to a top class series of matches in the Men’s Open grade on the Saturday with one half of the quarter finals being played in Cashel. The Ladies Open event is on in New Ross, the Juvenile Boys competitions are being played in Clogh while the Girls events are down for decision in Kilfane. Other courts being used are Garryhill, Kilmyshall and Mullinavat.

On the Sunday the action returns to Talbot’s Inch with the Mens Open semi-final, followed by the Ladies Open Final with the day finishing off with the Mens Open Final. There are also semi-finals and finals down for decision in Clogh, Garryhill and Kilmyshall.

60×30 National Rules and Information…

  • All Cup matches in the Irish 60×30 Nationals will comprise 2 x 15 ace game & tie-break to 11 if required, including finals.
  • All Plate matches (Doubles Events) in the Irish 60×30 Nationals will comprise 1 x 25 ace game, including finals.
  • Standard rules of 60×30 will apply for all matches. 2 serves will be permitted as per standard rules.
  • The 60×30 Challenger 3 Ball will be used for Girls 13, 15, 17 & Under and Boys 13 & Under Grades.
  • The Adult 60×30 Softball will be used for all other grades.
  • The schedule has been drawn up with every player entering the event guaranteed at least two matches in the event.
