Paul (Curley) Lambert lived up to his high ranking by inflicting a rare 40×20 domestic defeat on championship favourite Gavin Buggy at St. Josephs  Handball Centre on Friday last and in the process threw the 2015 county senior singles championship race wide open.
This was a hotly contested contest between St. Josephs clubmates and while Buggy is still very much in the title race, the 21-20, 21-16 win for Lambert raises a question as to his (Buggy’s) ability to successfully defend a title he has won on numerous occasions.
For Lambert is was a fully deserved win and with Tommy Hynes also remaining unbeaten to date, it now appears as though we have three genuine contenders for Wexford’s premier 40×20 championship.
