Keeling Lands All-Ireland Colleges Senior Softball Title

Jodie Keleling (Selskar College) All-Ireland Colleges Girls Senior Softball winner with runner-up Una Duggan (Presentation School Thurles)

St. Josephs club women Jodie Keeling won the All-Ireland Colleges Girls Senior Softball title in Ballymote, Sligo on Saturday Last. Keeling, who was representing Selskar College got off to the perfect start in her semi-final against Fiona Flood (Colaiste Oiriall, Monaghan). Keeling was in command throughout with Flood only registering a single score in the two games as Jodie’s strength and experience came to the fore.

Jodie then progressed to the final where she faced Una Duggan (Presentation School Thurles, Tipperary). The opening game saw Jodie run out a wide margin winner, 15-1. Duggan, however, was not going to go down easily and Keeling found herself with a battle on her hands in the second game. Keeling put in an outstanding performance to win out 15-12, and with that Jodie was crowned All-Ireland Colleges Girls Senior Softball champion for 2022. It is believed that Jodie’s win has provided Wexford with a first ever All-Ireland Colleges Girls Senior Softball, which is an incredible achievement for both Jodie and Selskar College.

Jodie’s success comes fresh off the back of her Leinster Minor Wall-Ball success a week previously, it also continued the amazing year for Wexford GAA Handball.
