Terry and Busher fancied to advance as county 60×30 championship reaches the knockout phase
Written by Antoin O Braoin
The first matches in the knockout stages of the county 60×30 adult championship are taking place next week with two Junior D Singles round of eight games down for decision on Saturday June 9th.
At Castlebridge, one of the favourites for the title Shane Terry, St. Josephs, takes on newcomer to championship handball Liam Murphy, Castlebridge and will be expected to emerge victorious while at Ballymitty another championship debutant Keith Devereux, also from Castlebridge faces up to the fancied Ciaran Busher, Bridgetown. Whatever the fate of the newcomers Castlebridge are to be lauded for their efforts in growing their playing numbers alongside the considerable structural development undertaken by the club in recent times. The end product is one of the finest 60×30 handball facilities in the country and, no doubt driven by ‘pride of place’, a group of players who are to the forefront in many of our championship grades.

*All players should note that the coming weeks will be extremely busy as we work our way through the knockout stages of the county championship as well as the opening rounds of the Leinster championship. We also have our eyes firmly fixed on the world championships in Minnesota and the absolute need to have our domestic activity concluded in time so that those traveling to the States get sufficient time to revert back to 40×20.
For all of those reasons we cannot accept any additional unsuitable dates to what has already been submitted.
