County finals get underway this coming week

Intermediate Doubles

Malachy Whelan/David Kenny (CAB) v Paddy Haughton/Matthew Hynes (STY)

The Castlebridge duo are seeking their fourth title in succession and will start favorites to maintain the sequence. Both are experienced 60×30 stalwarts who will not roll over in any circumstances. Haughton and Hynes will present a stiff test though and this could be one of the matches of the championship. It takes place at St. Mary’s on Monday evening at 8.15

Golden Masters B Doubles

Stephen Murphy/Brendan Murphy (CAB) v James Mythen/Padraig Devereux (CAB)

The Murphy brothers have dominated their patch for several years but now challengers have emerged from within and this all Castlebridge clash will be as much about bragging rights as anything else.  Devereux and Mythen have only returned to the game in the past couple of years and in this short time they have made considerable impact. This is a wide open final too close to call. See it at the local court at 9pm on Monday night.
