Busy Handball Weekend in store – All Ireland Adult Softball Semi-Finals & Feile Softball
Plenty of exciting handball action in store over the weekend with All Ireland Adult Softball Semi-Finals, mostly on Saturday, followed by the Feile Softball event on Sunday, which is being held in Wexford.
All Ireland Adult Softball Semi-Finals
St Marys is the place to be on Saturday afternoon, with three All Ireland Final places up for grabs. There has been a late postponement of the other game scheduled, the EMBS Semi-Final. The National CCCC postponed it as they decided to allow James Mythen to fulfil the fixture on his return from holidays. Ray Wickham was down to play tomorrow so he now loses out.
The three players at home are Noel Holohan (Templeudigan) O35B, James Stanners (St. Martins) Masters B, and Tommy Hynes (St Marys) Silver Masters A. The first game, O35B, is on at 1pm, followed by the Masters B Semi-Final. The Silver Masters A game involving Tommy Hynes will now start at 3.30pm, following the postponement.
Our three players with away games are Cora Doyle (St Josephs), Ladies Junior B, Barry Goff (Castlebridge), Masters A and Gavin Buggy (St Marys), O35A. On Saturday Cora travels to Limerick, while Barry has a Tipperary opponent. As Gavin won his Senior Singles Semi-Final against Gary McConnell (Meath) last Saturday, his O35A semi final is now going ahead on Sunday at 1pm in Ballina, Co. Tipperary.
