4-Wall League kicks off tomorrow night

ALL PLAYERS ARE REMINDED THAT GAMES ARE BEST OF 3 X 15

The new county 4-wall (40×20) league commences tomorrow night with matches at both Horeswood and St. Josephs. The ‘honour’ of getting things underway in court 2 at the Wexford town venue falls to 72 year old Jim Doyle, Barntown who goes in against the 24 year old Brian Busher from Bridgetown. On the face of it the younger man ought to prevail in this Division 6 clash but Doyle is both competitive and combative and its not likely to be a comfortable evening for either player.

At the same time in court 3 another young Bridgetown player Callum Smithies takes on Davidstown club secretary Stephen Kennedy in a Division 9 clash. The Enniscorthy district clubman reports progress in their bid to build a brand new handball centre to replace the previous building at Boolabawn which fell victim to storm Ophelia back in Oct 2017 and he will be anxious to get his campaign underway with a win tomorrow night.

Also at St. Josephs, Liam Rossiter, Ballyhogue takes on Pechelli English, Davidstown in a very interesting Division 3 match up while Pechelli’s twin brother Eugene, representing Ballyhogue, will play John Bail, Castlebridge in Division 8.

At Horeswood, Tomás O’Shea, Davidstown will play the returning PJ Lacey, Taghmon in Division 9 and this will be followed by a tough Division 4 clash between Sean Stanners, St. Martins and Michéal O’Neill, Templeudigan.
