Golden Master B singles All Ireland semi final. Stephen Murphy (Wexford) v Conor Kerr
No stranger to this stage of the competition and his experience really showed as Wexford’s Stephen Murphy raced into an early lead of 6-3. However the Tyrone player toom serve and made a couple of aces before Murphy retook serve. From here both players exchanged points until Murphy began to serve a hard toss along the left wall. This coupled with some good inside play left the Castlebridge man with a comfortable lead of 16-5 before loosing his toss. Once again both players exchanged point for point before Murphy assertedhis dominance and win the first 21-6.
Murphy began the second game with serve and made one ace before loosing his toss. After the that the Wexford man really dominated proceedings and displayed some excellent all round handball. He worked his opponent well around the court with some good control shots and when in position he finished rallys with excellent kill shots. To the credit of the Tyrone player he plugged away in the second game and his hard work paid off as he drew the game level at 16-16 before going on to lead 18-16. However Murphy called on all his experience and secured the second game 21-18 much to the delight of the home town supporters. A great game of handball in the second game pure entertainment.
