Robert Doyle took Wexford’s first Leinster title in this year’s provincial 60×30 championship when he produced a polished performance to see off the challenge of Gary Bolger, Kildare in the Silver Masters B Singles final at Garryhill last night. Ahead of the match there were real fears that a persistent injury to his calf might prevent him even playing but with the assistance of some strapping he produced a terrific display to win by 21-6, 21-10.
That scoreline does not tell the story of the game at all however as Bolger put up stiff resistance throughout and but for a good start in each game Doyle might have found things a whole lot tougher.  Nonetheless the St. Josephs man looked like he had the answers no matter what the questions and on this form he is a real contender for national honours.
