Ricky Barron and Robert Doyle are Leinster SMBD Champions

To borrow an American phrase,Robert Doyle ‘slammed’ in the Leinster Silver Masters (45+) B championship at Castlebridge yesterday evening when he duly added the provincial doubles title to the singles won last week. With partner Ricky Barron also in fine form the duo comfortably saw of the challenge of a game but outclassed James Travers and Kevin Kelly, Kildare on a scoreline of 21-3, 21-3.
As the score suggest it was an uneven contest throughout with the Wexfordmen dominant in all aspects of the game. Despite that, for those of us looking further up the road to a possible All Ireland win, there were enough signs to suggest that this is a potent partnership with real prospects.
Tougher tasks will lie ahead for sure but for now their success added further to an already very successful season for the county!
