They new grouping that will administer 60×30 juvenile handball in 2016. L-R Charlie Parnell, Mick Flood, Virginia Rossiter, Robert Doyle and Martin Power. They will select a Chairperson and Secretary at their first meeting next week.  The group will remain in place for the duration of the 60×30 season and the process will be repeated ahead of the 40×20 season when a new group will be appointed.

Last night’s Special County Convention saw the new Juvenile Structures and Competitions Plan (2016) strongly supported by the clubs of Wexford and it comes into effect in time for the county 60×30 championships. A new group of people were appointed to administer the Plan which changes fundamentally the way in which the championships will be run.

The schedule for the county 60×30 juvenile singles championship was also decided and is as follows;

Closing date for receipt of entries will be 10th April. Absolutely no late entries can be accepted.

The ‘B’ championship will commence on 22nd April with semi finals taking place between 29th April – 15th May and finals between 23rd May – 5th June. A league style competition will follow for ‘B’ players shortly after the knockout championship has been completed.

The main championship involving the three seeded players + the ‘B’ championship winner will be played to a round robin format and will take place between 10th June and 1st July. The county singles finals will be held between 1st July -24th July.

There will be no facilitation outside of the announced dates so all units and parents are asked to take careful note of the schedule which is far more flexible than what had been in place previously.
