A day to remember for Wexford handball as players win 6 All Ireland titles

Wexford has enjoyed a fair share of success over the years but few days can have been as satisfying as today for those in the ‘home of handball’ as six All Ireland titles were captured as far apart as Dungarvan in Waterford, Na Fianna in Dublin and Virginia in Cavan.

In an extraordinary show of force across several grades, Galen Riordan and Keith Armstrong won Intermediate Doubles, Paddy Haughton, 35 and Over B Singles, Gavin Buggy, Masters A Singles, brothers Stephen and Brendan Murphy, Emerald Masters B Singles and Diamond Masters B Singles respectively and Ned Buggy 70 and Over Singles.

It was a rarely accomplished but richly deserved feat by two brothers after many disappointments down through the years.
